The Human Factor - Live Ergonomics

Imagem Factor Humano

86-60-86, are these the perfect measures? We are all different, each individual has a unique combination of measurements, from the size of his waistline to the head circumference.
Ergonomics takes human dimensions into account when designing products, spaces and activities.

Come and see and feel how similarities and differences are reconciled in ergonomic designs that can make all our lives easier.

Experience how ergonomists assess the comfort of seats or care for our backs.

The exhibition "The Human Factor - Live Ergonomics" was on show from 05-03-2002 to 05-01-2003.

Decoding the hair

Imagem Factor Humano

An object of study for scientists, industrialists and sociologists, raw material manipulated by hair stylists all over the world and even used by artists - that´s the hair! Surprising but familiar, social and intimate, it is increasingly becoming an object of scientific study. Behind its apparent banality lies a universe of research and a lot of work.

How does hair grow? How does it get its colour and shape? How many hairs does a person have, why does it fall? How resistant is it?

Until May 11th 2003, you can discover the secrets of hair at the Pavilion of Knowledge - Ciência Viva.

Conceived and produced by:
L´Oréal e Cité des Sciences et de l´Industrie, France
